Thornbury Liberal Democrats are a growing and enthusiastic group of local volunteers who are determined to improve life in the ward. Better bus services, and maintaining and improving civic amenities — such as upgraded healthcare facilities — are especially prominent in their campaigns. Improving the local environment and addressing the Climate Emergency are themes that influence many aspects of this work. Like other South Gloucestershire Liberal Democrats, they champion a Council that is responsive and accountable to the Public.
Maggie, Jayne and Chris received nearly 5000 more votes than their Conservative opposition in the 2023 local elections.

Liberal Democrat bus campaigners are celebrating victory in their campaign for a cheap fare for bus journeys within the towns of Yate and Thornbury. From later this month people travelling on First Bus services will play just £1.50 for any single journey
