Local Councillors celebrate Paul’s Place acquiring Shire Way Community Centre
In an exciting development for the Dodington parish community, Shire Way Community Centre has been acquired by Paul's Place, a local charity dedicated to enriching the lives of physically disabled adults. Currently based in Coalpit Heath, the acquisition of Shire Way Community Centre will allow it to create a fully accessible 'Paul's Place Hub' to extend their support to even more people in need.
With a mission to reduce isolation, increase employment opportunities, and foster a stronger sense of community inclusion, Paul's Place aims to transform the Shire Way Community Centre into a vibrant hub. The organization is eager to increase the number of activities and programs it currently offers as well as the number of members who are able to attend.
Commenting on the acquisition, Cllr Louise Harris commented:
"We are thrilled to welcome Paul's Place to the Shire Way Community Centre. I’m especially excited about the community cafe and looking forward to using it."
Cllr Cheryl Kirby also shared her thoughts on the occasion, saying:
"The prospect of a fully accessible 'Paul's Place Hub' at Shire Way is genuinely exciting. We are excited to see how the charity's expanded offerings will benefit the community and help individuals locally live fulfilling lives."
Paul's Place envisions that the acquisition of Shire Way Community Centre will enable them to serve a larger number of members, thus maximizing their positive impact on the lives of members in the area. The organization is appealing to the local community to support their plans and actively engage in the initiatives to create a more inclusive and supportive environment.
