Liberal Democrats welcome NHS funding for a new health facility in Thornbury
South Gloucestershire Liberal Democrats have welcomed news of NHS funding for a new health facility in Thornbury.
Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate Claire Young said:
“The Liberal Democrats have been campaigning with the local community for better health facilities in Thornbury for many years, so we are delighted that money has now been found for the business case. The hundreds of signatures on the petition we presented to the Department of Health in London showed just how important this is to the people of Thornbury and the surrounding villages.”
Councillor Maggie Tyrrell (Liberal Democrat, Thornbury) said:
“After years of promises and false starts it’s great news that some money has at last been allocated. Over the years we’ve been promised a full community hospital, integrated health and social care facilities and an enhanced health centre, so local people will be really excited to see what will be delivered.”
South Gloucestershire Liberal Democrats have been campaiging on this important topic for many years.
