Claire Young MP demands answers over future of Yate Post Office

Responding to the news that Yate Post Office is at risk of closure, Local Liberal Democrat MP Claire Young has said she will be writing to the Post Office and campaigning to ensure it stays open. Claire said:

"It is deeply worrying to hear that the Post Office in Yate is potentially up for closure. This would be a huge blow for both Yate and Sodbury, which have seen many banks shut up shop in recent years.

"While the Post Office claims no decisions have been made, many will feel that this decision has already been taken behind closed doors with no public consultation. This is especially damaging as the Post Office was supposed to be the fall back when our banks closed.

"I will be writing to Post Office bosses to demand answers on what will be done to ensure we do not lose access to these vital services - which many people rely upon."
