John moved to Frenchay with his wife to be near to their two children.
He worked for the NHS for 36 years, serving as GP rep on a CCG, providing health services to 135,000 residents.
These skills are ideal for the next stage in a career devoted to public service.
In his first local election campiagn, John stood in the 2023 South Gloucestershire Council elections where he polled a mere 191 votes short of election in Frenchay & Downend ward. More than 13,000 votes were cast in the ward.
