Adrian Rush has a long history of public service in the Chipping Sodbury & Cotswold Edge ward area. He has fought environmentally insensitive and irresponsible development, and campaigned for the protection of public transport services, improved road safety and keeping South Gloucestershire Council accountable to the Public.
Electorally the ward is usually a close-fought battle between the Liberal Democrats and the Tories. In the 2023 local elections, while Adrian Rush topped the poll, Pat Trull, the other Liberal Democrat, missed out to the Conservatives by a mere 33 votes.
